It’s National Recycling Week — and in Calderdale, Labour is proud to put climate action and community at the heart of what we do.
Every item we recycle helps cut carbon, protect our environment, and save money. At a time when the cost of living is hitting hard, recycling makes a difference in two ways:
* It saves households money when we reuse and repurpose more.
* It cuts council disposal costs, freeing up resources to invest back into the services that matter most.
Thanks to your efforts, Calderdale is already recycling thousands of tonnes of waste every year. But we want to go further. Under Labour’s leadership, our administration is committed to tackling the climate emergency, creating greener jobs, and making sure no one is left behind.
Calderdale is the second highest in the UK for their recycling rate and has the highest recycling rate in Yorkshire!
This National Recycling Week, let’s keep building on that progress — together we can make Calderdale cleaner, greener, and fairer for everyone.
