Cllr Adam Wilkinson, Calderdale Council Cabinet Member for Children and Young People’s Services, has announced that 5 schools in Calderdale are set to benefit from a share of £470 million pounds invested in Schools across England.
From breakfast clubs, to record levels of capital investment, to boosting apprenticeships, we want a generation of children who go into education ready to learn and come out of education ready for life.
The five successful schools in Calderdale are:
* Burnley Road Academy
* Rastrick High School
* Luddenden CofE School
* Hebden Royd CofE Primary School
* The Crossley Heath School
This means over 3,000 children at these schools will be able to learn in a better environment!
Following the news of a glowing Ofsted report into Calderdale’s support for vulnerable children and young people, we are so excited to try and enable a generation of children that can thrive whatever their background.
The money announced here is on top of the money Calderdale has already secured to rebuild a further 11 schools under the School Rebuilding Programme, to ensure they are fit for the future. Those schools are:
* Central Street Infant and Nursery School, Hebden Bridge
* Cross Lane Primary and Nursery School, Elland
* Riverside Junior School, Hebden Bridge
* Shade Primary School, Todmorden
* Stubbings Infant School, Hebden Bridge
* The Brooksbank School, Elland
* The Calder Learning Trust, Mytholmroyd
* Todmorden CE J, I & N School
* Todmorden High School
* Walsden St Peter’s CE (VC) Primary School
* Woodhouse Primary School, Brighouse
So in total, 16 schools in Calderdale with significant Capital Work!
