We’re very excited to announce that Joe Thompson will be standing as our Labour Party Candidate in Town Ward for the May 2022 elections. Here’s what he had to say:

” I’m extremely excited to be able to announce that I’m standing as your Labour Party Candidate in Town Ward for the May 2022 Local Elections.

I’m really pleased to have been asked to take over from Bob – what a record to try and follow!

Having lived in Halifax my entire life, this is my home; somewhere I love and want to fight for.

I was self-employed for 5 years, starting from nothing and building something for myself. Now I’m working in Halifax day to day, getting to spend even more time in our wonderful town.

I love helping others and try to find as much time to do this as possible. Over the past two years, I’ve done everything from delivering parcels of essentials to the vulnerable to taking on casework and securing wins on everything from power cuts to noise complaints.

My main aim is to be accountable to and listen to you. I’m always here to help, so please feel free to get in touch any time!

I’m already helping Megan, Tim and Bob on local issues and look forward to showing how I can make a difference for local people. “
